Your Whole Life
“Your Whole Life" is a song I originally wrote for someone in my life who went through the loss of a pregnancy – and ultimately for anyone who’s had to carry that kind of grief quietly while the world kept moving. It’s so easy to feel so alone when you experience that kind of grief. I wanted to make anyone going through it feel seen and loved. This one took me a while. I rewrote the lyrics more than once, changed the melody, changed the guitar part — the whole thing got rebuilt a few times. Not because I couldn’t finish it... but because I didn’t want to share it until it felt like it was doing what it was supposed to do: honoring the person it was written for, and honoring everyone else who’s lived through this kind of loss.
