To Keep You Warm (Full Band Version)
I wrote “To Keep You Warm" in March of 2023, shortly after my family and I moved from Denver to Southern Vermont. We were all at a point where we were ready for some warmer weather to come along, but it was taking a while to get here. My wife, originally from Southern California, was particularly ready for warmer temperatures. The original idea for the song goes back to a coffee shop here in my town when the idea for a tour called the “To Keep You Warm Tour" came to mind. The tour didn’t quite taken shape, but the idea for the song was born. It was originally supposed to be a kiss-off anthem between two exes, but as I was writing it, it started to go in a different direction and turned into more of a seduction between two lovers trying to take comfort from a storm. Crafting “To Keep You Warm" was a delightful journey of seduction and comfort, inviting listeners into the warmth of a crackling fire and the embrace of a loved one. It’s a song born from the desire to share moments of intimacy and connection, a testament to the power of love to overcome the chill of winter.
