2 AM (Full Band Version)
If you’ve been following me for a while now, you may have already heard the full story behind my song “2 AM." It’s an incredibly special song to me – it was the first song that I wrote that made it out of a high school notebook (more specifically, the trash can that it likely went into. “2 AM" was born out of a mix of life experiences, youth, and self-discovery. It all began with a phrase from a TV show that “nothing good happens after midnight." At the time, I was about 25 and navigating the complexities of a fresh breakup and my journey back into the music scene after a brief hiatus from music. Like a lot of us, I spent a lof of time and money on nights out with friends – karaoke, late nights, and even occasionally stumbling upon meaningful conversations. It wasn’t always the healthiest path, but it was a way to ignore the tumult happening in my life at the time. “2 AM" is a reflection of my realization that I needed to move forward from the cyclical relationship and turbulent lifestyle I was in. “Today’s the day, I know I’m ready for more" reflects on the challenging and rewarding journey of personal growth that followed. Songwriting became my conduit for processing emotions and experiences, and “2 AM" marked the turning point where I started to work past the imposter syndrome I felt and pursued my passion with conviction. It holds a special place in my heart for being the song that made me believe in my own potential.
